This website features resources regarding federal grant funding that can be used by local communities and municipalities, state departments of transportation, Tribes, and federal land managers to help plan, develop, and maintain road and river crossings that seek to connect fish and wildlife habitats and prevent wildlife-vehicle collisions.

An estimated 1-2 million crashes between motor vehicles and deer and other large animals occur every year in the U.S., and that number is increasing. Those collisions cause approximately 200 human deaths–and 26,000 injuries–per year, with property damage and other costs totaling at least $8 billion a year.”
